AL1 as artist, my name is Alain Perret, born and living in Switzerland. I am a musician and composer playing keyboard, and a sound manipulator in all its forms. From music to noise, I work with synthesizers, samplers, and I build and transform my own sounds recorded on the field. Also technician, I do the audio editing and the mixing of my creations.
My inspiration comes from different styles: classical, jazz, ethnic, electronic and experimental. I compose for my own research or in collaboration to various projects : musical themes, soundscapes and sound fx for theatre plays and short films, nu-jazz music band, electro minimal duo, experimental music for contemporary choreographies and interdisciplinary performances, ambient music for art exhibitions.
Currently, I am part of the collective Uncoppen Saw which offers unique sound performances of organic experimental music (text, voice, percussions, dilruba, looper, synthesizer).

2015 • Sound compositions with Nikunja [dilruba] and Mannee [voice] for the installation “Xanadu, The Bastard’s Dream” from Nikunja, exhibited at the 56th Biennale of Art of Venice.
2014 • Creation of the sound effects for the short film “Evasion” from Viviane Deurin, selected at Kino Kabaret (Geneva, CH).
2012-2013 • Musical themes and sound effects for the theater play “Forfait Bien-Être” written and played by Viviane Deurin, with Nathalie Sabato, staging Nathalie Rudaz (Cie 3 P’tits Points Rouge, Geneva/Walis, CH).
2009 • Live sound after the projection of the film “Nama” from Nikunja (Le Séchoir, La Réunion, FR). Release of the minimal house EP “Babbling Bugs” from the duo ALFRED (Alain Perret and Fred Guansé, Geneva, CH).

AL1 de nom d’artiste, je m’appelle Alain Perret, né et habitant en Suisse. Je suis musicien compositeur au clavier et manipulateur de son sous toute ses formes. De la musique au bruit, je travaille avec des synthétiseurs, des échantillonneurs, et je construis et transforme mes propres sons enregistrés sur le terrain. Egalement technicien, j’effectue l’édition et le mixage audio de mes créations.
Mon inspiration est empreinte de différents styles : classique, jazz, ethnique, électronique et expérimental. Je compose pour ma propre recherche ou en collaboration à divers projets : thèmes musicaux, paysages sonores et bruitages pour des pièces de théâtres et des courts métrages, groupe de musique nu-jazz, duo électro minimale, musique expérimentale pour des chorégraphies contemporaines et des performances interdisciplinaires, musique d’ambiance pour des expositions d’art.
Actuellement, je fais partie du collectif Uncoppen Saw qui offre des performances sonore unique de musique expérimentale organique (textes, voix, percussions, dilruba, looper, synthétiseurs).
